1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how GolfDock collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our mobile app, website, course dashboard, admin portal, watch apps, GPS tools, scoring tools, leagues, messaging, AI Caddy features, shot-tracking features, subscriptions, and support channels.

2. Information you give us

We may collect information you provide directly, including your name, username, email address, profile details, profile photos, account settings, course or league information, messages, support requests, feedback, app-store or billing-related identifiers, and information you enter into scorecards, bag tools, AI Caddy prompts, course requests, or shot-tracking tools.

3. Golf, round, league, and score data

GolfDock may collect and store round history, scores, holes played, tees, putts, fairways, greens in regulation, penalties, totals, handicap-related fields, scorecards, leagues, events, standings, invites, members, course preferences, club/bag details, shot history, club distances, and other golf performance information created through the service.

4. Location and GPS information

When you allow location access, GolfDock may collect precise or approximate location from your phone or watch to show yardages, find nearby courses, support live rounds, record shots, estimate shot distance, sync watch rounds, and improve course mapping. Location collection is intended for active golf use and related app functions. If you disable location permissions, GPS, watch yardage, nearby-course, and shot-tracking features may not work properly.

5. Photos, screenshots, and user content

If you choose to upload or select images, GolfDock may process profile photos, feedback screenshots, course-related images, scorecard images, or other golf-related images you provide. Photo access is used only when you choose to select or upload content; GolfDock does not need broad photo-library access to operate core scoring features.

6. Watch and device information

If you use GolfDock with Apple Watch, Wear OS, Garmin, or another connected device, we may process device type, app version, watch state, round state, score updates, putts, fairway/green selections, GPS samples, motion or shot-candidate signals, sync status, error logs, and connectivity information needed to operate and troubleshoot watch features.

7. Automatic and assisted shot tracking

GolfDock may support manual, assisted, or automatic shot tracking. These features may process GPS samples, watch signals, motion signals, time stamps, club selections, course/hole context, and confirmation actions to create shot records or shot candidates. Automatic detection can be wrong, so users should review, confirm, edit, or delete detected shots where the app provides that option.

8. AI Caddy and automated features

AI Caddy and similar tools may use information such as your bag, club distances, shot history, scores, course context, lie or target information, and prompts you submit to generate suggestions. Do not enter sensitive personal information into AI prompts. AI output may be inaccurate and should be treated as informational only.

9. Automatically collected technical information

We may collect technical information such as IP address, device identifiers, operating system, app version, browser type, crash logs, diagnostics, performance data, authentication events, security logs, usage events, feature interactions, and approximate region. This helps us operate, secure, debug, and improve GolfDock.

10. Payment information

App subscriptions are generally handled by the applicable app store, and course or business payments may be handled by payment processors such as Stripe. GolfDock does not need full payment card numbers to operate app subscriptions. We may receive payment status, subscription status, transaction identifiers, renewal status, refund status, billing contact information, tax information, and similar records from payment providers.

11. How we use information

We use information to create and manage accounts, operate the app, process rounds, display scorecards, support leagues and events, sync watches, show GPS distances, track shots, personalize features, generate AI Caddy suggestions, provide customer support, process subscriptions, send service communications, prevent fraud, protect users, comply with law, enforce our terms, debug errors, and improve GolfDock.

12. How information is shared in GolfDock

Some information is visible to other users by design. For example, usernames, profile details, league memberships, scorecards, leaderboard results, event results, messages, and shared round information may be visible to friends, league members, course admins, event admins, or other users depending on the feature and settings used.

13. Service providers and third parties

We may share information with service providers that help us operate GolfDock, including hosting, database, authentication, maps, weather, email, analytics, crash reporting, app stores, payments, AI tools, customer support, and security providers. We may also share information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate fraud or abuse, in connection with a business transaction, or with your direction or consent.

14. Selling, sharing, targeted advertising, and state privacy choices

GolfDock does not sell personal information for money. We also do not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or use website cookies for targeted advertising. Some state laws, including California and Colorado privacy laws, use terms such as sale, sharing, targeted advertising, profiling, or opt-out preference signals in specific ways. Where those laws apply, GolfDock provides cookie choices, a “Do not sell or share” setting, and honors Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out for supported browser signals.

15. Cookies, analytics, and similar tools

Our website, app, and providers may use cookies, pixels, SDKs, local storage, or similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember settings, analyze performance, improve features, prevent fraud, and understand usage. Website analytics, preference, and marketing cookies are controlled through the Cookie Policy and Cookie Settings flow where available. Non-essential website analytics and marketing storage stay off unless you allow them. Browser or device settings may allow you to limit some of these technologies, and Global Privacy Control is treated as an opt-out from sale/share/targeted-advertising uses where required.

16. Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide GolfDock, maintain account and round history, support leagues and courses, comply with legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, protect against fraud, maintain backups, and improve or secure the service. Retention periods can vary based on the type of information and the reason it is stored.

17. Account deletion and choices

You may update some account information in the app and may request account deletion through the app, through https://golfdock.app/account-deletion, or by contacting support. Deleting an account may remove or de-identify many personal records, but some records may be retained where needed for legal, billing, security, backup, fraud-prevention, league integrity, course account, or dispute reasons. You can also manage app permissions, including location, notifications, photo access, and motion permissions, through your device settings.

18. State privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. These rights may include rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act/California Privacy Rights Act, Colorado Privacy Act, and similar state privacy laws. State-specific rights may include the right to opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, certain profiling, or certain sensitive-data uses where applicable. To make a request, contact us at the support email below or use the Cookie Policy and Cookie Settings flow for website cookie choices. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

19. Children and minors

GolfDock is not intended for children under 13, and children under 13 should not create an account or use the service. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13 without proper consent, we will take appropriate steps to delete it. Teens should use GolfDock only with appropriate parent or guardian involvement and should not share unnecessary personal information in profiles, messages, or AI prompts.

20. Security

We use reasonable technical, organizational, and administrative measures designed to protect information. No app, website, database, network, or method of transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

21. International use

GolfDock is operated from the United States. If you use GolfDock from another country, your information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our providers operate. Data protection laws may differ from those in your location.

22. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as GolfDock grows, features change, providers change, or legal requirements change. The updated version becomes effective when posted, unless a later date is stated. Continued use of GolfDock after the effective date means you accept the updated Policy.

23. Contact us

Questions, requests, or privacy concerns can be sent to support@golfdock.app.
